Home My Public Portal About15-8912 Lease of Three (3) New 2015 Ford Escape Vehicles from Metro FordSponsored by: City Manager RESOLUTION NO. 15 -8912 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO LEASE THREE (3) NEW 2015 FORD ESCAPE VEHICLES FROM METRO FORD, INC., PAYABLE IN MONTHLY INSTALLMENT OF $1,216.44 TO MEARS MOTOR LEASING, PAYABLE FROM ACCOUNT NUMBER 35- 535648, A BUDGETED ITEM; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Opa -locka will be embarking on a comprehensive capital improvement project, and need to manage and meet the challenges of the Capital Improvement Projects; and WHEREAS, the team handling the CIP will need to be mobile to maintain and stay watchful over the many aspect that's required to keep abreast of the contractors of the projects; and WHEREAS, presently personal vehicles are being used to keep aware of different aspect of the contractors; and WHEREAS, the City requested quotes form five (5) sources, the quotes provide as part of a fleet are: Armstrong Ford - $20965 for 2014 model; Metro For $20,835 for 2015 model; Gus Machado Ford $$21,275 / $23,887 for 2014 model; and Midway Ford - $22,637 for 2015 model; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa -locka desires to authorize the City Manager to lease three (3) Ford Escape vehicles from Metro Ford, payable in monthly installment of $1,216.44 to Mears Motor Leasing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Resolution No. 15 -8912 Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa- locka, authorizes the City Manager to lease three (3) Ford Escape vehicles from Metro Ford, payable in monthly installment of $1,216.44 to Mears Motor Leasing, payable from account number 35- 535648, a budgeted item; Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. Metro Ford Inc. has provided a competitive quote in the amount of $20,836.72 each. Implementation Time Line: Metro Ford Inc. has the vehicles readily available. Legislative History: N /A. Recommendations): It is the recommendation of Staff to authorize this request as there is a need to properly manage our CIP projects. Analysis: The City requested quotes from five (5) local car dealerships and four provided quotes as seen below: Armstrong Ford $20,965 each 2014 model Metro Ford $20,836 each 2015 model Gus Machado Ford $21,275 and $23,887 2014 model Midway Ford $22,637 2015 model Metro Ford provided the most competitive quote. The City has also been approved by Mears Motor Leasing for financing. The City will pay $405.48 monthly for each vehicle or a total of $1,216.44.
