Mayor Chavez called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. in the
Council Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue, Temple City.
2. ROLLCALL
PRESENT: Councilmember-Fish, Man, Sternquist, Yu, Chavez
ABSENT: Councilmember-None
ALSO PRESENT: City Clerk Kuo
3. INTERVIEWS FOR CITY COMMISSIONER VACANCIES
The City Council interviewed five applicants for three seats on the Planning
Commission with terms expiring June 30, 2015. A total of 17 applications for the
Planning Commission were received by the City and reviewed by the
Commission Application Review Ad Hoc Committee composed of Mayor Chavez
and Councilmember Sternquist.
At the conclusion of the interviews, City Council deliberated and Councilmember
Fish moved to appoint John Cordes, Albert Leung, and Helen Chen Marston to
the Planning Commission. Seconded by Councilmember Sternquist and
unanimously carried by the following roll call votes:

The City Council interviewed four applicants for three seats on the Transportation
and Public Safety Commission with terms expiring June 30, 2015. A total of 14
applications for the Transportation and Public Safety Commission were received
by the City and reviewed by the Commission Application Review Ad Hoc
Committee.

Mayor Chavez opened public comment.
Jerry Jambazian, Mary Kokayko and Janice Helmer, Temple City residents,
made comments regarding the applicants.
At the conclusion of the interviews, City Council deliberated and Mayor ProTem
Yu moved to appoint Jim Clift, Nicholas Stratis and Douglas Blatt to the
Transportation and Public Safety Commission .. Seconded by Councilmember
Sternquist and unanimously carried by the following roll call votes:

The City Council interviewed three applicants for three seats on the Parks and
Recreation Commission with terms expiring June 30, 2015. A total of 18
applications for the Parks and Recreation Commission were received by the City
and reviewed by the Commission Application Review Ad Hoc Committee.
City Council recessed the meeting at 9:05p.m. and reconvened at 9:11 p.m. with
all Councilmembers present.
At the conclusion of the interviews, City Council deliberated and Councilmember
Fish moved to appoint Joanne Rosso, Lance Baroldi and Steven Wen to the
Parks and Recreation Commission. Seconded by Councilmember Sternquist
and unanimously carried by the following roll call votes:

4. PUBLIC COMMENT
Mary Kokayko, Temple City resident, commented regarding the interviews.
Jerry Jambazian, Temple City business owner, asked question regarding training for
re-appointed and newly appointed commissioners.
Ousama Nimri, Temple City resident, asked questions regarding interviews for
commissioners reapplying and commented on applicants that were interviewed.

5. ADJOURNMENT
The City Council Special Meeting was adjourned at 9:27 p.m.
