Forbes, Community Development Director ~ SUBJECT: CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR MASTER FEE AND FINE SCHEDULE FOR FISCAL Y EAR 2015-16 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to: a) Open a Public Hearing; b) Accept any public testimony; and c) Continue the Public Hearing to the regular City Council meeting of July 7, 2015. BACKGROUND: 1. On June 2, 2015, the City Council reviewed the proposed Master Fee and Fine Schedule for Fiscal Year (FY) 2015-16 . 2. On May 28 , 2015, and June 4, 2015, a Notice of Public Hearing was published in the Temple City Tribune newspaper to notify interested parties of the Public Hearing scheduled for June 16 , 2015, for the City Council to consider approval of the Master Fee and Fine Schedule for FY 2015-16 . ANALYSIS: The proposed Master Fee and Fine Schedule would incorporate all City fees and fines into a single schedule . The proposed fees presented to the City Council on June 2, 2015, included fee increases for some planning application and processing fees, building plan check and permit fees, public works and engineering fees, and parks and recreation fees. The City Council exp ressed concern over some of the fee increases and requested that staff provide additional information about the proposed fees. Staff continues to work on preparing the additional information requested by the City Council. City Council June 16, 2015 Page 2 of2 CONCLUSION: Staff recommends that the City Council continue the public hearing on this matter to July 7, 2015, to provide staff with additional time to prepare the requested information and ensure that the City Council is provided with adequate information on which to base its decision. FISCAL IMPACT: The fiscal impacts associated with the proposed fees and fines will be provided in the July 7, 2015, City Council staff report. ATTACHMENTS: None
