A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO LEASE TWO (2) NEW 2015 FORD
ESCAPE VEHICLES FROM METRO FORD, INC., PAYABLE
IN MONTHLY INSTALLMENT OF $810.96 TO MEARS
MOTOR LEASING, PAYABLE FROM ACCOUNT NUMBER
35- 535648, A BUDGETED ITEM; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Opa -locka will be embarking on a comprehensive capital
improvement project, and need to manage and meet the challenges of the Capital Improvement
Projects; and
WHEREAS, the team handling the CIP will need to be mobile to maintain and stay watchful
over the many aspect that's required to keep abreast of the contractors of the projects; and
WHEREAS, presently personal vehicles are being used to keep aware of different aspect of
the contractors; and
WHEREAS, the City requested quotes form five (5) sources, the quotes provide as part of a
fleet are: Armstrong Ford - $20965 for 2014 model; Metro For $20,835 for 2015 model; Gus
Machado Ford $$21,275 / $23,887 for 2014 model; and Midway Ford - $22,637 for 2015 model; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa -locka desires to authorize the City
Manager to lease two (2) Ford Escape vehicles from Metro Ford, payable in monthly installment of
$810.96 to Mears Motor Leasing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Resolution No. 15 -8914
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa- locka, authorizes the City Manager
to lease two (2) Ford Escape vehicles from Metro Ford, payable in monthly installment of $810.96
to Mears Motor Leasing, payable from account number 35- 535648, a budgeted item.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

Staff Summary:
The City of Opa -locka IS poised to embark on a very comprehensive capital improvement project
schedule. The upcoming City of Opa- locka's capital improvement program /projects is one of the
largest and most complex programs of its kind for any city of similar size and urban complexity. The
CIP entails managing and overseeing improvements for the city's framework, both above - ground
and underground. The Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) division is to manage quality
infrastructure to meet and exceed the expectations of our community as such our team needs to be
mobile to maintain a watchful eye on contractors and projects. Personal vehicles are currently
being used for this task.

The City has also been approved by Mears Motor Leasing for financing. The City will pay
$405.48 monthly for each vehicle or a total of $1,216.44. At the end of the 60 month term, the
City will own the vehicles. We will, technically, buy out the lease for $1 per vehicle.
