RESOLUTION NO. 15 -8915
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE
EXPENDITURE OF A RETAINER OF $10,000 FOR THE
REPRESENTATION OF VICE MAYOR TIMOTHY
HOLMES FOR OUTSIDE COUNSEL REGARDING AN
ELECTION CHALLENGE PAYABLE FROM ACCOUNT
NUMBER 28- 514390; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION
OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Vice -Mayor Timothy Holmes was duly elected to the City Commission by the
residents of the City; and
WHEREAS, an election challenge has been filed in Circuit Court regarding his eligibility to
hold office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA- LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa -locka authorizes that a retainer
of $10,000 shall be paid to outside counsel, to be selected by Vice -Mayor Holmes, for the
representation of Vice -Mayor Holmes, payable from Account Number 28- 514390, regarding the
challenge to his eligibility to serve as a duly elected representative of the City.
Section 3. Any invoices received by the City in excess of the retainer may be approved
by the City Commission.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2 1St day of January, 2015.
