HomeMy Public PortalAboutMinutes - 4/7/1969173 The Wellsburg Town Council met in regular session on April 7, 1969, with Mayor Riekena presiding and Councilmen Freese, Tan Deest, Claassen, Eckhoff, and Huisman present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read by motion of Eckhoff and seconded by Claassen. Motion approved. Members of the council discussed a request to refrain from sounding the town whistle at 7 a.m. On a motion by Freese, seconded by Van Deest, it was recommended to continue the pre- sent schedule. Motion carried. The newly appointed town clerk, Henry J. Grobe, was sworn into office with the outgoing clerk, Mayo Tjaden�administering the oath. Following adequate discussion4 the council agreed not to recommend a marked detour while highway 214 is under con- struction. The treasurer's report was read and adopted on a motion made by Claassen and seconded by Huisman. Motion carried.
