CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO. 97- 33
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO APPLY FOR A LOCAL
PLANNING ASSISTANCE GRANT FROM THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statutes require that the City of Medina, as well as
other cities in the State of Minnesota, update their comprehensive plans by
December 31, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the City of Medina has, at great expense to the city, passed a
comprehensive plan amendment in 1992; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has been authorized by the State to
provide assistance to cities for updating their comprehensive plans; and
WHEREAS, the city has been and is a participated in the Livable Communities
Act; and
WHEREAS, the city will work with the Metropolitan Council to achieve their
regional goals and policies while balancing those goals with the realities of
development in Medina and the goals of its residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Medina hereby
authorize the city staff to apply for the Metropolitan Council Local Assistance
Grant.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Johnson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Ferris, Hamilton, Johnson, and Thies and the following voted against
same: None Absent: Zietlow
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
