HomeMy Public PortalAbout1997-042Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 97 - 42 RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX LEVY FOR 1998 AND ESTABLISHING THE DATE, TIME, AND PLACE FOR THE TRUTH AND TAXATION HEARING WHEREAS, city staff has prepared a preliminary budget for the operations of the City of Medina for the calendar year 1998; and WHEREAS, the Medina City Council has determined that a property tax levy in the amount of $1,040,600 (levy amount minus Homestead and Agricultural Credit Aid) is necessary to meet the needs outlined in the preliminary budget; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THE City Council adopt a preliminary tax levy of $1,040,600 for taxes payable in 1998 and that this amount be certified to the Hennepin County Auditor as required by Minnesota State Statutes. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an Initial Truth in Taxation Hearing be held December 3, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. in the Medina City Hall and a Continuation Hearing on December 10, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. in the Medina City Hall if necessary.
