RESOLUTION NO. 15-8947
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA, NAMING DEBORAH SHEFFIELD
IRBY AS THE CITY HISTORIAN; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Deborah Sheffield Irby has contributed, volunteered and
participated over many years in activities to promote the history of the Great City of
Opa- locka; and
WHEREAS, Deborah Sheffield Irby has a significant knowledge of the history of
the City; and
WHEREAS, the prior historian unfortunately passed away; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to make this designation.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. Deborah Sheffield Irby is hereby named and recognized as the official
Historian of the City of Opa- locka, at no cost or expense to the City.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 111h day of March, 2015.
