RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL DIRECTING THE
OWNER OF BUILDINGS TO APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY
COUPJCIL TO SAOW CAUSE WFiY SUCH BUILDINGS 3IOULD
P;OT BE CONDEMNED AS A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND SAID

NUISANCE ABATED AND PRESCRIBING THE FORM OF
SAID NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of, Lynwood
has filed with the City Council a report stating that Floyd P.
Haleen and Myron J. Haleen, sub�ect to the administration of the •
estate of Per Haleen, deceased, are the owners of the three buildings
on that lot or parcel of land hereinafter described, and that said
buildings are substandard as defined in the Uniform Building Code •
and that said buildings constitute a public nuisance in the following
particulare that the dwellinga and garage are structurally unsound,
electric,systems are unsafe, all plumbing is unsanitary, the lot is
completely overgrown and the1entire property is a health hazard,
fire hazard and an attractive nuisance.
WHEREAS, the lot or parcel of land hereinabove referred
to is described as follows: Lots 19, 20, and 21 in block 9 of
Mod�eska Park, in the, City of Lynwood, in the County of Los'Angeles,
State of California; as per map recorded•in map�book 9, pages 11}2 and,
11}3,, commonly known.as Pear Str,eet, Lynwood; California.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:'. �
1. That the Building Official and the City C1'erk notify �
the owner of said buildings and if said buildings is encumbered
by a mortgage or a deed of trust of..record, the beneficiary of .

• said deed of trust in the-manner hereinafter stated, directing ,
the owner of such buildings and the mortgagee or beneficiary, if
. ,
any, to appear before the City Council at,the�Council•Chambers in
the City Hall at 11330 Road, Lqriwood,.California, on

February 16, 19�1 , at the hour of 7�30 p.m. , and show cause why
such buildings shoul�i-not be condemned as a nuisance and said
nuisance,be abated by reconstructing, or properly repairing said •
buildings or_razing or removing the same. .
2, The notices required in this resolution shall be ,
given in the following manner: The Building Official, or any �
, employee in the Building Department who he shall delegate, sha11
post conspicuously on the buildings alleged to be unfit at ,
least one copy of the notice and ahall send another copy by
registered or certified mail, postage prepaid, return receipt .
requested, to the person owning the lot or parcel of 1'and on which the �
buildings are located as such perscn�s name and address appear on
the last equalized assessment rcll or as known tc the City Clerk .
,_ and to any mortgagee or beneficiary, and if such address is unknoorn
to the enforcement agency, then such fact sha12 be stated in said
copy so ma3led and it shall be addressed to him at the County seat
of the Countp wherein the property is situeted.
The Building Official, cr employee of the Building
Department upon giving notice as aforesaid shall file an affidavit
thereof with the City Clerk certifying the time and manner in which � `
I such notices was given. He al�all also file therwith any receipt
card which may be returned to him in acknowledgement of receipt of
such notice by registered or certified mail, The failure,.of
any owner or other person to receive said notice shall not effect

in any manner the validity of the proceedings taken hereunder. -
The City Clerk shall cause a notice:of the time and place of said
hearing to be published.in a newspaper of general circu].ation
published in the City of Lynwood, Said publication �hall be made
at least ten days bePore the data�set for hearing,

same property and extended by minute action, is hereby v ided.
