CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.97-53
RESOLUTION GRANTING AN AMENDED CONDITIONAL
USE PERMIT TO K'N'R ELECTRONICS, INC.
WHEREAS, K'N'R Electronics, Inc. (the "Applicant") is the owner of an office/ warehouse
located at 810 Tower Drive (the "Property"); and
WHEREAS, on November 17, 1987, the city council of the City of Medina (the "City")
granted the Applicant a conditional use permit for an office/warehouse at the Property; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant has requested an amended conditional use permit in order to
construct an 1800 sq. ft. addition to the building; and
WHEREAS, this matter was reviewed by the planning commission at its meeting on October
14, 1997 and by the city council at its meeting on October 21, 1997; and
WHEREAS, based on said reviews, the City has determined that granting the amended
conditional use permit is consistent with Medina's ordinances and will not adversely affect the
development and use of the adjacent properties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina,
Minnesota that an amended conditional use permit be granted to the Applicant for the stated purpose,
subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. There shall be no exterior storage on site;
2. The exterior of the building addition shall be constructed of the materials approved by
the City, which materials shall also be compatible with those used in construction of the
existing building;
All signs on the Property must comply with City ordinance requirements;
4. All mechanical equipment shall be screened from view from adjacent properties and
public rights -of -way;

Site landscaping shall be installed and maintained in accordance with the plans
approved by the City;

6. The site shall contain at least 10 parking spaces, with at least one designated and signed
for use by the handicapped;
7 All exterior lighting on the site, including the lighting on the existing building, must be
shoebox style and totally enclosed on all sides except the bottom, with the globe not
exposed;
8. Site drainage shall be accomplished in accordance with the plans approved by the City;
There shall be no exterior storage of trash containers on the site; and
10. The Applicant must pay to the City a fee in the amount determined by the City to
represent its actual cost in reviewing this amended conditional use permit.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of
Medina, Minnesota that, this Resolution supersedes Resolution No. 87-124 in all respects except that
nothing herein shall be construed to affect the variance granted in 1987 for sideyard setback from the
left property line from 30 feet to 20 feet for the driveway.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Johnson and
upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof
Ferris, Hamilton, Johnson, Thies, and Zietlow
and the following voted against same: None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
