RESOLUTION N0.71-73
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA COMMENDING JAMES W. RILEY FOR SERVICES
RENDERED TO THE COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, Mr. James W. Riley served as an employee of the
City of I,ynwood from 1948 to 1971, and
WHEREAS, during these twenty-three years of service
he served the City in many capacities including those of Fireman,
Fire Engineer, Fire Captain, Assistant Fire Chief, Fire Chief and
City Manager, and
WHEREAS, he further served his community as President
of the Lynwood Rotary Club and Special Project Chairman and
Districts Committees of the Boy Scouts of America, Midlands,District,
and
WHEREAS, Mr. R�ley distinguished himself as a student
graduating from the University of Southern California School of
Public Administration in 19b2 and in so doing received the Dean's
Letter of Merit.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD:
That this Resolution be adopted as an expression of our
esteem for former City Manager James W. Riley and as an expression
of our gratitude for his devotion to his duty as a community leader.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of November,
1971.
