Linnell Landing - additional strategies Strategy #1 - Address the occasional need for additional beach parking. Plan - Explore with DCR the option of using the former Monomoy “Infirmary” lot for overflow parking. Strategy #2 - Relieve automotive congestion at Linnell Landing (and also at Crosby Landing), while providing greater access to both Landings and the beach area in between. Plan - Develop options with DCR for access to the entire coastal beach from Linnell Landing to Crosby Landing with emphasis on opening the beach area in between the two landings, using existing pathways, trails and DCR portion of Weathervane Lane. Plan - Extend the road that currently ends at the Cape Rep Theatre, via an existing trail, as a biking/hiking path to Weathervane Lane for daytime beach access. Weathervane Lane terminates at its northerly end on the coastal beach approximately halfway between Linnell and Crosby and would service both beach landings. Strategies #3 – In collaboration with DCR, create a management plan to preserve the natural resources of the former Monomoy property for both conservation and recreational purposes. Plan – Improve such other trails and pathways that are suitable for biking and hiking and are naturally scenic or contain interesting flora or fauna habitats for the enjoyment of Park visitors and Brewster residents and renters. Strategy #4 – Review usage of the DCR site annually to determine if shuttle (trolley) service should be added to move visitors to the beaches more efficiently from Rte 6A without the need for developing additional parking closer to the beaches. Plan - Identify a location near Rte 6A appropriate for adequate parking and with room to maneuver a shuttle. Plan – Identify a location for a coin-operated bike rental service near 6A for another beach-access alternative.
