HomeMy Public PortalAbout71-082 (12-07-71) RESOLUTION ATO, 71-82 A RESOLUTION OF TAE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF PER- DIEM WAGES FOR CONTRACTS FOR PUBLIC WORKS � THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES RESOLVE: WHEREAS, the staff of the City of Lynwood has submitted to this City Council recommendations for the determinations of the prevailing rate of perdiem wages in the City of Lynwood and surrounding territory for work to be performed under the contracts of public work; and, WHEREAS, Section 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of Cali- fornia, as amended by Statutes of 1968, Chapter 699, requires the body awarding any contract for public work to ascertain the general prevailing rate of perdiem wages in the locality in which the public work is to be performed, and further provides that in lieu of speci- fing the prevailing rate of perdiem wages in the ca11 for bids for such contracts, the awarding body may refer to copies of such pre- vailing rates oq file at its principal office, and in such event must publish its determination of such prevailing rates in a news- paper of general circulation at least once during each year; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has ascertained and considered the rates and data referred to in said Section 1773; �OW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does resolve: 1. Said City Council does hereby determine and establish the general prevailing rate of perdiem wages for each type of craft, classification, or type of work involved in the execution and/or performance of work under contracts for public work in accordance with the following schedule which is designated as "PREVAILING WAGE SCALE" and attached hereto as Exhibit "A". 2. The City Clerk of the City of Lynwood is authorized and directed to file a copy of this resolution, and of Exhibit "A" hereto, at least annually with the Director of Industrial Relations of the State of California and to cause a copy thereof to be published in a newspaper of general circulation at least once during each f iscal year, as provided in Labor Code Sections 1773 and 1773.3.
