RESOLUTION NO. 71-84
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATE OFFICERS OF THE
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO CANCEL TAXES AND
ASSESSMENTS OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD WITHOUT THE
CONSENT OF THE CITY ATTORNEY OR OTHER OFFICER
OF TI?E CITY OF LYNWOOD.
WAEREAS, City taxes and assessments are collected by officers
of the County of Los Angeles on behalf of the City; and
WHEREAS, it has been the custom of the County of Los Angeles
to obtain the consent of the City Attorney prior to canceling any
taxes pursuant to Revenue and Taxation Code Section 4986; and
64HEREAS, the Legislature has amended Said statute to provide
that the consent of the City to tax cancellations as required
therein may be dispensed with by appropriate resolution by the City
Council filed with the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the appropriate officers
of the County of Los Angeles are hereby authorized to cancel taxes and
assessments of this City pursuant to Revenue and Taxation Code
Section 4986, and to do so without consent of the City Attorney or
other officer of the City, until further o der of this Council.
