SUPPORTING SENATE BJLL S-1661
\\'HEREAS, Senate Bill S~1661, released by the Senate Govemment, Wagering, Tourism &
Historic Preservation Committee, requires candidates for school board member and local elective
office to file financial disclosure statement on or before lOIh day following deadline for filing
nominating petitions for that office; and
WHEREAS, as such, S~ 1661, would require each school official, to annually file a financial
disclosure statement with the School Ethics CommissioD, all financial disclosure statements filed
pursuant to this act shall include the name "and address of each source of income and the school
official's position; the Local Finance Board shall prescribe a financial disclosure statement form
for filing purposes, counties and municipalities which have not established ethics boards, the
board shall transmit sufficient copies of the forms to the municipal clerk of each municipality
and the county clerk in each county for filing in accordance with this act; and
'VBEREAS, the New Jersey League of Municipalities strongly supports 8.1661 as released and
has requested that all of its members go on record similarly supporting the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret~ County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. That the Borough of Carteret hereby supports Senate Bill S-1661 released by the
Senate Goveinment, Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee.
2. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the New Jersey League of
Municipalities.
