RESOLUTION N0. 71-91
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD DIRECTING THE OWNER OF THFs BUILDINGS AT
10817 LONG BEACH BOULEVARD TO APPEAR BEFORE THE
CITY COUNCIL TO SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH BUILDINGS
SHOULD NOT BE CONDEMNED AS A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND
SAID NUISANCE ABATID, AND PRESCRIBING THE FORM OF
SAID NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of Lqnxood
has filed with the City Council a report stating that Claude N. and
Audry W. Monroe is the owner of the buildings on that lot or parcel
of land hereinafter described, and that said buildings are sub-
standard as defined in the Uniform Building Code and that said
buildings constitute a public nuisance in the following particulars
that the dwelling and garage are structurally unsound, electric
systems are unsafe, all plumbing is unsanitary, the lot is com-
pletely overgrown and the entire property is a health hazard, fire
hazard, and an attractive nuisance,
WHEREAS, the lot or parcel of land hereinabove referred
to is described as follows: Lot 6 of Tract 279!} in the City of
Lynwood, in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as
per map recorded and commonly knoxn as 10817 Long Beach Boulevard,
Lynwood, California.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the Building Official and the City Clerk notify
the owner of said buildings and if said buildings is encumbered
by e mortgage or a deed of trust of record, the beneficiary of
said deed of trust in the manner hereinafter stated, directing
the owner of such buildings and the mortgagee or beneficiary, if
any, to appear before the City Council at the council chambers in
the City Hall at 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California, on
soon thereafter as the
January 18, 1972 at the hour of ��30 p.m. or as ma+*�er can be heard

why such buildings should not be condemned as a nuisance and said

nuisance be abated by reconstructing, or properly repairing said
buildings or razing or removing the same,
2. The notices required in this resolution shall be
given in the following manner: The Building Official, or any
employee in the Building Department who he shall delegate, shall
post conspicuously on the buildings alleged to be unfit at
least one copy of the notice and shall send another copy by
registered or certified mail, postage prepaid, return receipt
requested, the the person owning the lot or parcel of land on
which the buildings are located as such person�s name and address
appear on the last equalized assessment roll or as known to the
City Clerk and to any mortgagee or beneficiary, and if such address
is unknown to the enforcement agency, then such fact shall be
stated in said copy so mailed and it shall be addressed to him at
the County seat of the County wherein the property is situated.
The Building Official, or employee of the Building
Department upon giving notice as aforesaid shall file an affidanit
thereof with the City Clerk certifying the time and manner in which
such notices was given. He shall also file therewith any receipt
card which may be returned to him in acknowledgement of receipt of
such notice by registered or certified mail. The failure of
any owner or other person to receive said notice shall not effect
in any manner the validity of the proceedings taken hereunder,
The City Clerk shall cause a notice of the time and place of said
hearing to be published in a newspaper of general circulation
published in the City of Lynwood. Said publication shall be made
at least ten days before the date set for said hearing,
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 21st day of December, 1q71.
