Borough of Carteret
UEZ Matching Grants - Facade, Awning & Sign - Phase 3
\YHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret Urban Enterprise Zone Board unanimously recommend
the adoption of a resolution requesting additional VEZ project funding to. continue the DEZ
Matching Grant - Facade, Awning & Sign - Phase 3, a component of the Carteret Small
Business Programs, to continue a financial assistance matching grant program for eligible
participants of the Carteret Urban Enterprise Zone Program; and
"'BEREAS, The Borough of Carteret and the Urban Enterprise Board wishes to continue the
UEZ funded Matching GraIlt - Facade, A""ing & Sign Program - Phase 3, which will contribute
as a catalyst to the eXpansion of Cartefet's business districts and redevelopment areas through
,new business capital investments and employment opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret and the Urban Enterprise Board have reviewed the
proposed program and support the UEZ funded Matching Grant - Facade. Awning & Sign
Program - Phase 3; and
WHEREAS, this request is for Phase 3 of this program in the amount of $100,000.00 (One
,lf1mdredThousandDollars, and 00/100); and
WHEREAS, purSUaIlt to N.J.S.52.27H-88 ( c ), in order to fund the project from funds deposited
in the Enterprise Zone Assistance Fund. the governing body must adopt a resolution approving
the project and' authorizing the submission oithe project for additional funding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL YED that the Mayor aIld Council of the Borough of
Carteret do hereby authorize and direct the submission of a request in the amount of $1 00,000.00
to the New Jersey Urban Enterprise Zone Program for evaluation and approval of the project
entitled:
UEZ Matching Grants - Facade, Awning & Sign Phase 3
to be funded from monies deposited in the EJ;lterprise Zone Assistance Fund and credited to the
account of the Borough of Carteret, said account maintained by the State Treasurer for the
Enterprise Zone.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL YED that the Borough Clerk shall fomard eight (8) certified copies
of the resolution to the Urban Enterprise Zone Program Coordinator for distribution to the
members of the Urban Enterprise Zone Board.
