ORDINANCE NO. .:??7
AN ORDINANCE INCORPORATING BY REFERENCE THE
"UNIFORM FIRE CODE," 1994 EDITION, AS AMENDED BY
SEDGWICK COUNTY RESOLUTION NUMBER 7-1996 AND
REPEALING ORDINANCES NUMBER 9, 83, 187 AND 223.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE,
KANSAS:
Section 1. Incorporating Uniform Fire Code
There is hereby incorporated by reference, for the purpose of prescribing regulations
governing conditions hazardous to life arid property from fire and explosion, that certain code known
as the "Uniform Fire Code," 1994 Edition, prepared and published in book form by the International
Conference of Building Officials and the Western Fire Chiefs Association, 5360 South Workman Mill
Road, Whittier, California, as amended by Sections I and IV of Resolution Number 7-1996 of the
Board of County Commissioners of Sedgwick County, Kansas and amendments thereto. No fewer
than three (3) copies of said Uniform File Code, Sedgwick County Resolution Number 7-1996, and
amendments thereto shall be marked "Official Copy as adopted by Ordinance No. :l? 7 ," to which
shall be attached a copy of this Ordinanc0, and filed with the City Clerk to be open to inspection and
available to the public at all reasonable hours.
Section 2. Repeal
Ordinances Number 9, 83, 187 and 223 are hereby repealed. All other ordinances or parts
of other ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed. However, any section of an existing ordinance
not in conflict herewith is not repealed and remains in full force and
effect.
Section 3. Effective Date
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in the official
city newspaper.
