RESOLUTION NO. 15-8974
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE USAGE OF A
CITY OWNED LOT LOCATED AT 1950 ALI BABA AVENUE BY
ANTIOCH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH FOR A HEALTH
FAIR AND FOOD DISTRIBUTION; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECTIALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church desires to use a City Owned lot
located a 1950 Ali Baba Avenue for the purposed of proving health screenings and other
health related service on June 11th and 12th, 2015; and
WHEREAS, The Church will also be providing food for all attendees; and
WHEREAS, This event will promote the health and welfare of Opa -locka
residents; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission desires to support this event to permit
Antioch Missionary Baptist Church to utilize this land.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference;
Section 2. The City Commission approves the usage of a lot located at 1950 Ali
Baba Avenue for usage by Antioch Missionary Baptist Church June 11th and 121h,
2015 and directs the City Manager to permit this usage and the City Attorney to
draft an agreement that facilitates such usage.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

:Dear Commissioner Kelley,
This letter is to request the use of the city owned lot located at 1950 Ali
Baba Avenue for a tent revival to be held June 11th and 12th, 2015. The
revival is to be sponsored by Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Miami
Gardens under the leadership of Arthur Jackson, III, along with the
Council of Clergy.
Worship services are scheduled for 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM and social
services, e.g., blood pressure and glucose screenings, HIV testing, etc.,
are to be rendered from 6:00 PM to 7 :00 PM each day. Pastor Mikell will
host food distribution. Each attendee will receive a hot meal after the
services.
We look forward to working with the Council of Clergy on this event to
bring much needed spiritual and social services to the residents of Opa-
Locka.
