Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.98-23
RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR
INSTALLATION OF C.S.A.H. 101 WATER MAIN
IMPROVEMENT
WHEREAS, pursuant to council action on April 7, 1998, Bonestroo Rosene Anderlik &
Associates has prepared plans and specifications for the installation of the C. S.A.H. 101 water main
project and has presented such plans and specifications to the city council for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the city council of the city of Medina,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. The plans and specifications for the subject improvement project, a copy of which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof are hereby approved.
2. The clerk -treasurer is authorized and directed to cause to be prepared and inserted in
the official newspaper an advertisement for bids for the making of said improvement
under the approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published
according to law, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received
until 10:00 a.m. on May 26, 1998, at which time they will be publicly opened by the
city clerk and city engineer and will then be tabulated and considered by the city council
at its meeting on June 2, 1998. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during
consideration of the bids will be given an opportunity to address the city council on the
issue of responsibility. No bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with the clerk -
treasurer and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or cashier's or certified check
payable to the city for 5% of the amount of such bid.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Thies and upon
vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof
Ferris, Hamilton, Johnson, Thies, and Zietlow
and the following voted against same: None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
