HomeMy Public PortalAbout15-8982 To Institute a Policy Directing that all City Owned Vehicles are returned to the City when Employees will be out of the OfficeSponsored by: Commissioner Santiago RESOLUTION NO. 15-8982 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTITUTE A POLICY DIRECTING THAT ALL CITY OWNED VEHICLES ARE RETURNED TO THE CITY WHEN EMPLOYEES WILL BE OUT OF THE OFFICE ON CITY LEAVE, ANNUAL LEAVE OR COMP LEAVE; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, The Opa -locka has an obligation to make sure that City issued vehicles are used for taxpayer purposes; and WHEREAS, When employees are out of the office for more than 72 hours, the tax payers are not receiving the benefit of the usage of these vehicles; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires that the City Manager create and enforce a policy requiring all employees who are out on sick, annual or comp leave for more than 72 hours to return their City owned vehicles. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference; Section 2. The City Commission hereby directs the City Manager create and enforce a policy requiring that all employees who are out on sick, annual or comp leave return their City owned vehicles. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of April 2015.
