RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL DIRECTING THE
OWNER OF BUILDINGS TO APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY
COUNCIL TO SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH BUILDINGS SHOULD
NOT BE CONDEMNED AS A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND SAID
NUISANCE ABATED AND PRESCRIBING THE FORM OF
SAID NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of Lynwood
has filed with the City Council a report stating that Betty Louise
Schultz is the owner of three buildings on that lot or parcel of
land hereinafter described, and that said buildings are substandard
as defined in the Uniform Building Code and that said buildings
constitute a public nuisance in the following particulars that the
two dwellings and garage are structurally unsound, all electric
systems are unsafe, all plumbing is unsanitary and the entire
property is a health hazard, fire hazard and an attractive nuisance.
WHEREAS, the lot or parcel of land hereinabove re£erred
to is described as follows: The south 30 feet of Lot 406, Tract
7984, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as recorded in
map book 90, page 34, commonly known as 10965-10967 Duncan Avenue,
Lynwood, California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the Building Official and the City Clerk notify the
owner of said buildings and if said buildings are encumbered by a
mortgage or a deed of trust of record, the beneficiary of said deed
of trust in the manner hereinafter stated, directing the owner of
such buildings and the mortgagee or beneficiary, if any, to appear
before the City Council at the Council Chambers in the City Hall,
ll330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California, on February 3, 1970, at the
hour of 7:30 p.m., and show cause why such buildings should not be
condemned as a nuisance and said nuisance be abated by reconstructing,

or properly repairing said buildings or razing or removing the same.
2. The notices required in this resolution shall be
given in the following manner: The Building Official, or any
employee in the Building Department whom he shall delegate, shall
post conspicuously on the buildings alleged to be unfit at least
one copy of the notice and shall send another copy by registered
or certified mail, postage prepaid, return receipt requested, to
the person owning the lot or parcel of land on which the buildings
are located as such person's name and address appear on the last
equalized assessment roll or as known to the City Clerk and to any
mortgagee or beneficiary, and if such address is unknown to the
enforcement agency, then such fact shall be stated in said copy so
mailed and it shall be addressed to him at the County seat of the
County wherein the property is situated.
The building Official, or employee of the Building
Department upon giving notice as aforesaid shall file an affidavit
thereof with the City Clerk certi�ying the time and manner in which
such notices was given. He shall also file therewith any receipt
card wnich may be returned to him in acknowledgment of receipt of
such notice by registered or certified mail. The failure of
any owner or other person to receive said notice shall not affect
in any manner the validity of the proceedings taken hereunder.
The City Clerk shall cause a notice of the time and place of said
hearing to bepublished in a newspaper of general circulation
published in the City of Lynwood. Said publication shall be made
at least ten days before the date set for said hearing.
