RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL DIRECTING THE
OWNER OF BUILDINGS TO APPEAR =EiFORE THE CITY
COUNCIL TO SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH BUILDIIVGS SHOULD
NOT BE CONDEMNED AS A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND SAID
NUISANCE ABATED AND PRESCRIBING THE FORM OF
SAID NOTICE,
WI�REAS, the Building Official of the City of Lynwood.
has filed with the City Council a report stating that William John
Thompson, Jr. is the owner of two buildings on that lot or parcel of
land hereinafter described, and that said buildings are substandard
as defined in the Uniform Building Code and that said buildings
constitute a public nuisance in the following particulars that the
dwelling and garage are structurally unsound, electric systems are
unsafe, all plumbing is unsanitary, the lot is completely overgrown
and the entire property is a health hazard, fire hazard and an
attractive nuisance.
WHEREAS, the lot or parcel of land hereinabove referred
to is described as follows: Lot 190 of Tract #7572, County of
Los Angeles, State of California, as recorded in map book 82, page
22-23, commonly known as 4032 Virginia Street, Lynwood, California.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the Building Official and the City Clerk notify
the owner of said build.ings and if said buildings is encumbered
by a mortgage or a deed of trust of record, the beneficiary of
said deed of trust in the manner hereinafter stated, directing
the owner of such buildings and the mortgagee or beneficiary, if

any, to appear before the City Council at the Council Chambers in
the City Hall at 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California, on
March 3rd, 1970, at the hour of 7:30 p.m., and show cause why
such buildings should not be condemned as a nuisance and said
nuisance be abated by reconstructing, or properly repairing

said buildings or razing or �emoving the same.
2. The notices required in this resolution shall be
given in the following manner: The Zuilding Official, or any
employee in the �uilding Department whom he shall delegate, shall
post conspicuously on the buildings alleged to be unfit at
least one copy of the notice and shall send another copy by
registered or certified mail, postage prepaid, return receipt
requested, to the person owning the lot or parcel of land on which the
buildings are located as such personzs name and address appear on
the last equalized assessment roll or as known to the City Clerk
and. to any mortgagee or beneficiary, and if such address is unknown
to the en£orcement agency, then such fact shall be stated in said
copy so mailed and it shall be addresses to him at the Count seat
of the County wherein the property is situated.
The Building Official, or employee of the 3uilding
Department upon giving notice as aforesaid shall file an affidavit
thereof with the City Clerk certifying the time and. manner in which
such notices was given. He shall also file therewith any receipt
card which may be returned to him in acknoledgement of receipt of
such notice by registered or certified mail. The failure of
any owner or other person to receive said notice shall not effect
in any manner the validity of the proceedings taken hereunder.
The City Clerk shall cause a notice of the time and place of said
hearing to be published in a newspaper of general circulation
published in the City of Lynwood. Said publication shall be made
at least ten days before the date set for said hearing.
