RESOLUTION NO. 15-8992
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO APPOINT AN OMBUDSMAN FROM
AMONG EXISITNG STAFF TO ADDDRESS
LANDLORD/TENANT ISSUES IN THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA;
PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The City of Opa-locka desires to address residents concerns
regarding landlord/tenant and Fair Housing issues; and
WHEREAS, Opa-locka residents frequently have questions, concerns and
significant issues regarding their tenancy at rental complexes within the City of Opa-
locka; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission believes it is an important function of our City
government to assist residents with these issues and concerns.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission hereby directs the City Manager to appoint from
within his staff, an Ombudsman to assist residents with landlord/tenant issues
and to report back to the Commission the policies and procedures under which
this assistance shall be provided.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
