RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL DIRECTING THE
OWNER OF BUILDINGS TO APPEAR BEFORE TAE CITY
COIINCIL TO SF.TOW CAUSE WHY SUCH BUILDINGS SHOULD
NOT BE CONDEMNED AS A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND SAID
NUISANCE ABATED AND PRESCRIBING THE FORM OF
SAID NOTICE.
WFIEREAS, the Building Officisl of the City of Lynwood
has filed with the City Council a report stating that Elsie
Haleen is the owner of three buildings on tF�at lot or parcel of
land hereinafter described, and that said buildings are substandard
as defined in the Uniform Building Code and that said buildings
constitute a public nuisance in the following particulars that the
dwellings and garage are structurally unsound, electric syatems are
unsafe, all plumbing is unsanitary, the lot is completely overgrown
and the entire property is a health hazard, fire hazard and an
attractive riuisance.

to is described as follows: Lots 19, 20, and 21 in block 9 of
Mod�eska Park, in the City of Lynwood, in the County of Los Angeles,
State of California, as per map recorded in map book 9, pages 142 and
143, commonly known as 11428-28'�-30 Pear Street, Lynwood, California
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the Building Official and the City Clerk notify
the owner of said buildinga and if said buildings is encumbered
by a mortgage on a deed of trust of record, the beneficiary oP
said deed of trust in the manner hereinafter stated, directing

the owner of auch buildings a the mortgages or beneficiary, if
any, to appear before the City Council at the Council Chambers in
the City Hall at 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California, on
December 15, 1G70 , at the hour of 7:30 p.m. , and show cause why
such buildings st�ould not be condemned as a nuisance and said
nuisance be abated by reccnstructing, or properly repaining said
buildings or razing or removing the same.
2. The notices required in this resolution shall be
given in the following manner: The Building Official, or any
employee in the Building Department who he ahall delegate, shall
post conspicuously on the buildings alleged to be unfit at
least one copy of the notice and shall send another copy by
regiatered or certified mail, postage prepaid, return receipt
requested, to the person ownin� the lot or parcel of land on which the
buildings are located as such person�s name and address appear on
the last equalized assessment roll or as known to the City Clerk
and to any mortgagee or beneficiary, and if such address in unknown
to the enforcement agency, then auch fact shall be stated in said
copy so mailed and it shall be addressed to him at the County seat
of the County wherein the property is situated.
The Building Gfficial, or employee of the Buildin�
Department upon giving notice as aforesaid shall file an affidavit
thereof with the City Clerk certifying the time and manner in which
such notices was given, He shall also file therewith any receipt
card wriich mag be returned to him in acknowledgement of receipt of
such notice by re�istered or certiTied mail. The failure of
any owner or other person to receive said notice shall not effect

in any manner the validity of the procaedings thaken hereunder.
The City Clerk shall cause a notice of the time and place of said
hearing to be published in a newapaper of general circulation
published in the C1ty of Lynwood. Said publication s�all be made
at least ten days before the date set for said hearing.
