HomeMy Public PortalAbout2003-10 2004 SALARY ORDINANCE - EMPLOYEES�� ORDINANCE 2003 -10 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SIZE OF DEPARTMENTS OF CITY GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA, FIXING SALARIES FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF SUCH DEPARTMENTS AND FIXING THE SALARIES OF CERTAIN OTHER APPOINTED OFFICIALS FOR THE YEAR 2004 BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, as follows: SECTION ONE: that all eligible full -time members of the departments of the City of Greencastle shall be paid longevity beginning the first day of the anniversary month of the fourth, seventh and twelfth year of service. Longevity shall be based on 3 %, 4% and 5% respectively, i.e. those personnel in their fourth through sixth year of service shall be paid a 3% longevity; seventh through eleventh year of service shall be paid 4% and twelve years and over 5 %. Full -time members shall be compensated for authorized overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standard Act, 29 U.S.C.A. 207. SECTION TWO: That the Police Department shall consist of eighteen (18) full - time members and in addition, five (5) part-time school crossing guards. Base pay ranges including the maximums, shall be as follows: P5  Police Chief $39,200.00 +longevity P5  Assistant Chief $34,600.00 +longevity P4  Captain (3) $33,000.00 +longevity each P3  Sergeant (3) $31,300.00 +longevity each P2  Patrolman (7) $30,000.00 +longevity each P2  Probationary Patrolman $29,000.00 PI  Parking Violations Officer $19,700.00 $20,700.00 +longevity C3  Secretary $19,700.00 $26,200.00 +longevity C3  Full -Time Clerical $19,700.00 $20,700.00 +longevity Crossing Guards (5 @ $11.30 per day) $10,300.00 Approximate Longevity Total $18,500.00 SECTION THREE: That the Fire Department shall consist of seventeen (17) full - time members. That the Sewage Department shall pay to the City Engineer of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the City Engineer on behalf of the Sewage Department during the year 2004 the sum of Twenty Thousand Five Hundred Ninety Two Dollars ($20,592.00). That the Sewage Department shall pay to each of the two (2) citizen members of the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the citizen members of the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf of the Sewage Department during the year 2004 the sum of Nine Hundred Thirty Dollars ($930.00 each). SECTION EIGHT: That the Department of Water Works shall consist of eleven ® (11) full -time members, one (1) Engineer Technician and three (3) part-time members.
