A RESOLUTION OF THE LYNWOOD CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING STAFF TO
PREPARE A PHOTO HISTORY OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH
ARCADIA PUBLISHING
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood was approached by the Arcadia Publishing
Company with a proposal for a photographic history book on the City of Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, Arcadia Publishing is a leading publisher of local and regional
history books throughout America, most well-known for its publications, "Images of
America" series and has pubiished over 200 books in Southern California for museums,
cities, historical societies, and libraries; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to have a Lynwood historical book, to share and ,
preserve local history for the community; and
WHEREAS, Arcadia Publishing is a full-service publisher producing a historical
book for the City of Lynwood free of charge, and
WHEREAS, Arcadia Publishing will provide experienced editorial, marketing,
and sales support, ensuring the end result is a high-quality publication that is distributed
throughout the community
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes staff to author a photo history book -
of the City of Lynwood.
Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute a Memorandum of
Understanding agreement with Arcadia Publishing for the production of the Lynwood
historical photo book.
