The 31st meeting of the Orleans Police Station Building Committee was convened by Chairman Tom
Finan on September 10, 2015 at 1:00PM in the Nauset Room of the Orleans Town Hall. Present were
Chairman Tom Finan,Jeff Roy, Bill Stoeckert, Dale Fuller and Bill Weil.Also present were Ex-Officio
member, Ron Collins and Chief Scott MacDonald.

Approval of Minutes:
Upon motion of Mr. Weil, seconded by Mr. Roy, the August 13, 2015 minutes of the Police Station
Building Committee were approved 4-0-1.
Discussion
1. Mr. Pomroy presented a report on the various site investigations that had been conducted.The
geotechnical survey indicated some areas of the site to be loose fill, incapable of supporting a
normal slab-on—grade. Alternative foundations are being explored. Soil samples have been
taken to assure there are no contaminants.
2. Mr. Pomroy met with the Eldredge Park Way abutter to review plans. The property owner
supported the plan.A similar meeting will be held with the Route 28 abutter.
3. Mr. Lane explained the pros and cons of various HVAC options. It was agreed that a sub-
committee would schedule visits to locations where different systems have been installed to
obtain additional information on efficiency and maintenance.
4. Mr. Costa and Mr. Pomroy presented the latest site plan, which now shows main entrance on
Eldredge Park Way with a crosswalk to overflow parking by the ball field. Front yard and side
yard variances will be required. A meeting will be scheduled for presentation to the ZBA.

5. Presentations to the Architectural Review Committee September 10th; the September 16th
Board of Selectmen /Finance Committee meeting; and the October 1St Orleans Citizens Forum
public meeting were discussed.
Next meeting:
The next meeting will be September 24, 2015 at 1:00PM in the Nauset Room at the Town Hall.
