LYIQWOOD RELATIidG TO ADLITIOidAL SHORT.-TERM FIIQANCIIdG'
FOR THE STATE WATER PROJECT. . ', ,
WHEREAS, the report of. the.Governor's Water Resources Task=
Force issued in May, 1967, and the response'.there.to issued in
Sep.tember, •1967, by. the.Depar'tment of Water Res'ources, confirmed�that
insufficient money. is available to finance_construction of the'initial
� facilities of, the State Water Project as.originally ,scheduled by. the
Department;;;. and ' .
, WHEREAS, numerous water agericies recommended that additional
State•tideland.oil and gas re.venues',.originally committed to.the �
, 'water program but sharply. curtailed in recent years, be rededicated
• to assure completion.on schedule of initial.'facilities of the State .. �
Water Project; and � .' •
". •� WHEREAS, State. tideland oil and gas revenues committed to
the State Water Project,for its:reimbursable costs will:be repaid
: in,full witfi interest by. the State water�service contractors; and�
WHEPEAS, Governor Reagan has r,ec'ently'announced that his '
• administration will submit two Uills .to the Legislature at its.�
� 1968 Regular Session which if enacted woixld provide .the necessary -
additional short-term_financing t'o .the'extent.of,$64�million from
. '. . l',. ,
State ticleland oil and gas re,venues thr.ough 'fiscal ye'ar.lg72-73 to �
enable 'the es,sential, •features of.i.the projec.t to'be �completed ori '.,'.

WHEREAS, Senator•Gordon Cologne,.Chairman of the Senate'
Committee.�on Water.Resources, and Assemblyman Carley V. Porter., .�
� Chairinan.of`tne Assembl'y,Committee: on Water.,. have pledged their•. �.
support in obtaining the approval of such legislation, and
, WHEREAS,'this city wishes to endorse and reco`mmend approval
- of such.proposed legislation, and commends the Governor and his ,
administration,.Senator Cologne,and Assemblyman Porter for. their .
successful endeavors to devise and agree.�on a program which could
