RESOLUTION NO. 15-9026
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING SYMPATHY AND
FELLOWSHIP WITH THE CITY OF CHARLESTON, SOUTH
CAROLINA; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, On Wednesday, June 17, 2015, nine people were brutally murdered
at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina; and
WHEREAS, this was a senseless act of violence that has brought tragedy to the
lives of not only nine families, but the nation as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka wishes to express its prayers, condolences
and great sympathies to the nine families affected and to the City of Charleston, South
Carolina.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City of Opa-locka hereby expresses its deepest sympathies and
condolences to the families of the nine victims and to all of the citizens of the
City of Charleston, South Carolina.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
