NORTH OCEAN BOULEVARD LANDSCAPING ADVISORY COMMITTEE
TOWN OF GULF STREAM
DECEMBER 10,1992
TOWN HALL OF GULF STREAM
100 SEA ROAD, GULF STREAM, FLORIDA
***********************************
I. The meeting was called to order by the
Chairman, Jeanne Breazeale, at 9:OOAM. In
attendance were Jeanne Breazeale, Mary Windle,
Kim Tiernan, Linda Bryan, and Eleanor Woolems.
II. General discussion took place regarding the
possibility of replacing the old Gulf Stream
Town Limit signs with a more attractive sign.
The question was raised as to whether we would
be allowed to remove the old signs. Are these
signs standardized throughout the state? If
it is possible to replace the signs, our
preference would be to use the approved signs
with the State Seal on it with embossed
lettering to read as follows:
Town of Gulf Stream
Est. 1925.
In 1992, the State of Florida designated this
section of A1A a historic and scenic highway.
A sign would be placed at either end of the
Town limits.
Our second choice was a sign with no seal on
it at all.
III. we also discussed the possibility of having a
highway dedication in March. It was
determined that the dedication should be at
the Town Hall.

IV. Jeanne informed us of Mark Foley's interest in
our situation and his willingness to take our
Australian Pine replanting proposal to the
Legislature. We all agreed that we must have
a complete and accurate report with ample
documentation before Mark can proceed. This
report should included all of our areas of
research -- specifically from Australian Pine
sensitive experts who support adapted non-
native vegetation.
V. Jeanne suggested that we make a recommendation
to the Commission that they hire C. Way Hoyt
as the Town's consulting arborist. He is
qualified to do a Hazard Tree Survey and would
serve as an expert witness.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:OOAM. The next meeting is
scheduled for Wednesday, January 6, 1993, at 9:OOAM.
Respectfully submitted:
