The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Jean Breazeale at
1:15 P.M. In attendance: Jean Brezeale, Mary Windle, Scott Harrington
and Betsy Hvide, who was in the audience.
Items discussed were:
- Whether or not to put the idea of hiring an architect on hold.
- Betsy Hvide is going to contact Kathy Dickinson with historic
preservation to pursue the historic use of Australian Pines.
- The use of Australian Pines as a tree to replant AlA with was
discussed and Jean Breazeale presented an agenda for saving
the pines. Scott Harrington suggested that since we are
approaching the use of pines for aesthetic and historic
reasons we need to prove there are no adverse effects from
from the pines or no more than alternative trees. In
addition will explore the use of alternative trees, their
root structures, water suage, canopies, etc.
It was suggested that we try to create a landscape identity for
the entire corridor of AlA in Gulf Stream.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, July 1, 1992 at 9:15 A.M.
Jean Brezeale adjourned our meeting at 2:30 P.M.
