HomeMy Public PortalAboutHHC 10 27 1993MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
GULF STREAM HISTORIC HIGHWAY COMMITTEE
TOWN OF GULF STREAM
TOWN HALL OF GULF STREAM
100 SEA ROAD, GULF STREAM, FLORIDA
OCTOBER 27, 1993
I. The meeting was called to order by the Chairman,
Jeanne Breazeale, at 9:00 A.M. In attendance were
Jeanne Breazeale, Kim Tiernan, Mary Windle, and Eleanor
Woolems.
II. Jeanne informed the group that our "Pine Tree" Bill
has been written and submitted for approval to the Palm
Beach County Legislative Delegation. The Bill requests
an amendment to Florida law exempting the Town of Gulf
Stream from restrictions regarding the planting, care
and cultivation of our Australian Pine trees along the
historic AIA corridor.
III. Jeanne asked who we felt should present the Bill.
Eleanor stated that she thought Jeanne was the most
knowledgeable and therefore the most logical choice.
Mary seconded the motion. Jeanne then suggested that
Mayor Koch also be present.
IV. Jeanne then informed us that Senator Foley's office
said that letters of support from the community would
be very helpful. Each of us agreed to contact 10
people who would write letters.
V. Again we discussed asking the Civic Association to
include "Tree News" in the Newsletter.
VI. The meeting was adjourned at 11f0:00/A.M.
Respectfully submitted:
Kimberly Tiernan
Secretary GSHHC
