All members were in attendance.
I. Call to Order. Chairman Neeves called the meeting to order at
3:00 P.M.
II. Minutes of the Meetina of March 11, 1998. The minutes were
approved as circulated.
III. Review successful bid for AlA landscape installation. The bid
from Arazoza Bros. Corporation was reviewed and all were pleased.
IV. Town Entry Markers. A design for the Town entry markers was
discussed and Cynthia Neeves announced that the Civic Association
had agreed to pay up to $5,000 for these markers since they had not been
provided for in the grant.
Mr. Russell advised that Rocco Auri had constructed the marker for Place
Au Soleil and would be willing to do the ones for Gulf Stream.
It was explained that since the last committee meeting on March 11,
1998, discussions had been under way with Connie Fisher, landscape
architect, who had originally suggested town entry markers, and that she
had recommended David Tuscani with whom she had worked on several
projects. Preliminary drawings prepared by Mr. Tuscani showing a
Coquina style finish and bronze lettering on a very simple marker were
considered and all were in agreement that these are excellent choices.
It was recommended that the Town Manager move forward with the project
with Mr. Tuscani.
The members of the Committee thought Mr. Auri's offer was very generous
and directed that a letter of thanks be written to him on behalf of the
committee.
V. Items from Committee Members. There were no items from the
members.
