RESOLUTION NO. 15-9045
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA; REQUESTING MIAMI-
DADE COUNTY TO EXTEND THE DAYS OF OPERATIONS
OF THE OPA-LOCKA LIBRARY, LOCATED 780
FISHERMAN STREET, TO INCLUDE FRIDAYS (5 DAYS
PER WEEK); PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County has a branch library in the City of Opa-
locka, Florida, at 780 Fisherman Street; and
WHEREAS, the Library is currently open for operation 4 days per week and
closed on Fridays; and
WHEREAS, there is a need and great public benefit for the Library to be
open on Fridays (5 days per week).
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED THAT THE CITY
COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF OPA LOCAK, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City of Opa-Locka requests that Miami-Dade County extend
the days of operation of the Opa-locka Library, located at 780 Fisherman
Street, to include Fridays (5 days per week).
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this
Resolution to the Miami-Dade County and any sub-committee thereof.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
