HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-16-2003THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, OCTOBER 16, 2003 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2003 in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided, with Bruce Metzger, and Assistant City Attorney Joel Harvey in attendance. Robin Henry was absent. The following business was conducted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes could not be approved as Henry was absent and Goodwin was not at the October 16th meeting. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Metzger presented claims from the Finance Department for $172,939.37 and made a motion to approve, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote. REQUESTS A. Goodwin requested approval of an access permit at 1115 Lancinshire. Metzger moved to approve, subject to conditions of City Engineering, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote. B. Goodwin read a letter from City Controller Ann Cottongim requesting the donation of a 1991 GMC Truck, which has been used by the City Engineering and Planning Department, to the Neighborhood Services Clearinghouse. Metzger moved to approve, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote. C. Goodwin read a letter from Thera Lohmoeller, Special Events Coordinator for Richmond -Wayne County requesting the closing of Main Street between 8th and 9th on October 23, 2003 beginning at 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the "Fall Harvest" sponsored by Main street Richmond -Wayne County and the Urban Enterprise Association. Metzger moved to approve, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote. D. Goodwin read a request for a Reserved Handicap Parking Space for Bavara L. Hoffman at 320 South 10th Street. Metzger moved to approve, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote. CONTRACTS A. Harvey said the Internet Connection Contract was not ready for adoption this evening and would be on the agenda for the next meeting. B. The Ramada Inn removal could not be addressed this evening because of the absence of Henry and Metzger being the attorney for Wayne Bank, the owner of the Ramada. This will also be on the agenda next meeting. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice vote, the meeting was adjourned.
