HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-13-2003THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, NOVEMBER 13, 2003 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2003 in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided, with Robin Henry, Bruce Metzger, and Assistant City Attorney Joel Harvey in attendance. The following business was conducted: I_ 1>>: t61 T/ _ 1 S61 a L Y i I I► 011 � Henry moved to approve the minutes for the November 6, 2003 meeting, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Henry presented claims from the Finance Department for $111,677.28 and made a motion to approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. REQUESTS A. Goodwin requested approval of three access permits; 301 Hawthorne Lane, 2511 Parkdale Drive, and 1002 Lancashire. Metzger moved to approve, subject to the requirements of City Engineering, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. B. Fire Chief Mike Allen requested the closing of Industries Road from Williamsburg Pike West to Flatley Road to conduct their annual drivers training. The closure will be on November 16, 17, and 18, 2003 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. BID OPENING A. The following bids were opened for maintenance on air conditioning and heating systems for Stations 2 through 6: Meyers Mechanical, $1,881, and Loman Metal Shop for various rates. Chief Allen will review these bids and bring them back to the board at a later date. AGREEMENT A. Godwin requested an encroachment agreement with the City and INDOT for work on State Highway Right -of -way at the Leland Hotel. This agreement will include the installation of five (5) decorative light poles and planters to protect the improvements. Henry moved to approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice vote, the meeting was adjourned.
