RESOLUTION OF INTEPdTIOTd IP1 THE MATTER OF THE
� IMPROVEMEPIT OF JOSEPHINE AVENUE ET AL BY THE
CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE CURBS AND GUTTERS,
TOGETHER WITH ALL INCIDENTAL AND APPURTENANT
YIORK . '
WIIEREAS, pureuant to the provisions of Division IV
o£ the Streeta and Highways Code, cited as a,Special Asuessment
Investigation Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1Q31, the
City Council of the City of Lynwood has determined that Jo�ephine
- Avenue, between Atlantic Avenue and the east city boundary, and
portions of Lavinia Avenue, east and west of Wright Road, portions
of Wilson Avenue, Louise Avenue, and Alice Avenue between Josephine
Avenue and Lavinia Avenue as proposed in Resolution No. 67-6
of said city is feasible, and that the public interest, convenience,
and necessity require the improvement substantially as set forth
in eaid report, and said City Council has found that the lands
to be aseessed.will be able to stand the burden o£ the propoaed
assessment; �
„_ „ NOW, THEREFORE,_be it,resolved by the Cify Council .
of the City o£ Lynwood as follows:
Section 1 . That in the opinion of the City Council
of the City of Lynwood, the public interest and convenience
- require and it is the intention of said City Council to order

the following work or'improvement to be done to wit:
The construction of cement concrete curb and gutter
�and drive approaches, including all incidental and appurtenant
work on Josephine Avenue, between Atlantic Avenue and the east
city boundary, and on portions of �riilson Avenue, Louise Avenue,
and Alice Avenue between Jo�ephine Avenue and Lavinia Avenue,
. All of uaid work or improvement shall be performed
_ ' in tYze public ways and between the limits hereinafter before
designated, except when the plans'indicate that the work shall
be omitted.
That all of the work or improvement aforesaid shall
be done and performed in accordance with and to the grades shown
on the plans and Specificatione No 1967-c-3 on file in the
office of the City Cle'rk of said city. Said plans are hereby
referred to for a full and complete'description oi said proposed
work and for the grades to which the work is to be done, and
said .plana and epecifications are by reference made part hereof
and shall govern for a11 detail of the proposed work.
That the total estimated cost of eaid work or improve-
ment is the sum o£ $21,768.10. The City of Lynwood will contribute
$�,707.24. The total estimated cost to the property owners iN
$13,060.86,
Section 2 . That said contemplated work or improvement,
in the opinion of the City Council, is of more than local or
ordinary.public bene£it, and said City Council hereby determines
and declares that the district to be benefited by said work or
improvement, a.nd to be asaessed to pay the cost and expenses of
wuch work or improvement, is shown on Plan No Zg67-C-3 on file
in the office of the City Clerk of said city, to.whieh reference
is hereby ma�e for a£ull and complete description o£ the as�etis-
ment district.
Section 3 . The City Council determine� and declare,s .
that serial bonds shall be issued in the manner and form provided
in Divsion VII, o£ the Streets and Highwaya Code, cited as the
Improvement Act of 1�11, as amended, bearing interest at the rate
of.,6� per annum, to represent each assessment of $50.00 or over
remaining'unpaid for thirty days after date of recordation of I
the warrant.
Seetion 4 . Notice is hereby given that the provisions i
of that certain act of the Legislature of the State of California,
designated a•s the Streets and Highways Code, Division IV, cited
as a Special Assessment Investigation Limitation and Majority
Protest Act of 1931, as amended, has heretofore been fully
' complied with and the reports required under the provisions of
said act, are on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
city, open to public in�pection and may there be examined by
all interested persons.
" Section 5 . The proceedings for the aforesaid work or
improvement �hall be taken under an act of the legislature of the '
State of California deaignated as the Streets and Highways Code,
Division VII, cited as the Improvement Act of lgll and amendmente
thereto.
� Section 6 . The City Engineer is hereby directed to
make a diagram of the property affected or benefited by said •
proposed work or"improvement, as described herein, and to be
assessed to pay the cost and expenees'of said work showing each
, separate lot, piece, or parcel of land and the dimensions of each �
� lot, piece, or parcel of land, and the relative location of the
same to the work or improvement proposed to be done, all within the
� limits of said assessment district. �
Section 7 . Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the
6th day o£ June, 1967, at`the hour.o£ 7:30 p,m, in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall, 1133o Bullis Road, in the City of
Lynwood, any and all persons having any objections or protests to
said proposed work or improvements or to the.extent of the distriet
to be assesqed, or to the �rades to which the work is proposed to
be done, may appear before eaid City Council and ehow cauee why
said proposed work or improvement should not be carri'ed out in
accordance with this resolution.
Section 8. The CitV-Engineer, who is the Superintendent
of Str�s, is hereby directed to post notices of the passage of
this resol'ution.in the time,_form, and manner required by law.
Section 9 . The City Clerk ahall certify to the pa'ssage
of this resolution by the City Council of said City of Lynwood
and cause the same to be p'ublished twice in the Lynwood Preas,
a newapaper published and circulated,weekly in said city,'and
hereby designated by said City Council for the purpose aforesaid.
Said clerk is also directed to mail notices of the adoption o£
this reaolution and intention in the time, form, and manner, and I
