HomeMy Public PortalAbout15-9051 RFP FOR A CITY MANAGER Sponsored by: Commissioner Kelley Co-Sponsored by: Mayor Taylor Resolution No. 15-9051 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ISSUE A REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATION (RFQ) FOR A CITY MANAGER; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka is in need of a City Manager due to the resignation of Kelvin L. Baker, Sr., as City Manager. WHEREAS, the City is currently being managed by an interim City Manager. WHEREAS, the City Commission is required by the City Charter to appoint a City Manager. WHEREAS, the City Commission has to engage in a process to select a City Manager. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, that: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Clerk shall issue a Request For Qualifications (RFQ) for a City Manager. Section3. It is preferred that the persons interested in applying have at least 10 years of upper management experience in state, county or municipal government in the State of Florida. Section 4. The Clerk shall issue the Request For Qualifications (RFQ) no later than August 10, 2015 with submissions due date by August 28, 2015. Section 5. Upon receipt of the submission, the City Clerk shall forward the same to each member within 5 days of submission due date. Resolution No. 15-9051 Section 6. The City Commission shall convene on or about September 2, 2015,at a time to be set by the City Clerk,to select a City Manager. Section 7. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
