RESOLUTION N0. 67-�+3
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNW00D, CALIFORNIA, CONFIRMING THE REPORT
OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS OF SAID CITY
DATED NNE 20, 1967 �LATING TO CERTAIN SIDE-
� WALK REPAIRS.
WHEREAS, under the provisions o£ Article 2, Chap,ter 22,
Part 3 of Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of-the State
of California (Improvement Act of 1911�, the Superintendent of
,
Streete of the City of Lynwood did duly and regularly notify the
respective ownera or persons in possession of the reepective
properties described in the report of said Street Superintendent,
hereinafter referred to, tha.t the sidewalk or drive approach 3n
£ront of such respective properties was out of repair a.nd notifying
such owners or persone in possession to repair the eame, all in
the manner as contemplated in said law above referred to; and
WHEREAS, thereafter said owners or persons in.possession
of said respective properties failed to make such repairs within
the time contempla,ted by law or at all; and
WHEREAS, thereafter the said Superintendent o£ Streets
did cause the respective repairs to be made to the sidewalk in
front of such respective properties and did keep a record of the
cost of such repairs, including the incidental expenses thereof,
and did prepare and file with the said�City Council a report
specifying the repairs which had been so made, the cost of such
repairs, and a description of each parcel of real property in
::ront o£ which such repairs had been made and the aseessment
against each lot or parcel of land proposed to be levied to pay
the coat thereof; and
WHEREAS, as contemplated by law, eaid Superintendent of
Streets did cause notice of the said cost of auch repairs to be
mailed to the respective owners or persons in posseasion of said
respective properties, and did in such notices give further notice
that on the 20th day of June, 1967 begainning at the hour o£ 7:30
o'clock p.m, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City
of Lynwood, California, the Council of the said city would hear
and pass upon the said report of the Superintendent of Streets oP
the said cost of euch repairs, together with any objections or
protests which might be raised by any property owner liable to be
assessed for the cost and incidental expensee of making such
repairs, and the objections or protests of any other interested
persona; and -
WI�REAS, on the sa.id 20th day of June, Zg67 said City
Council did proceed to hold said hearing and did duly and regularly
conduct the same, all as contemplated by law; and
WI-IEREAS, no protests or objections o£ any kind were made,
preeented, or filed in such matter;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNFIOOD,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, FIND, DETERMINE, AND
ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . That the £act� with reference to said matter
' as recited in the preamble to this resolution are true.
Section 2 . That'aaid City Council does hereby confirm
the report of said Street Superintendent which is on file in the
office of the'City Clerk of said City and open to public irispection,
and which is referred to and incorporated by reference herein.
Section 3 . That the �aid Council does hereby aseese the
reapective costs of said repairs a.gainst the respective parcels of
real property fronting upon the sidewalk upon which auch respective
repairs were made, all in the respective amounts, for the respective
purposes and againat the respective properties as aet forth and
indicated in eaid report of said Superintendent of Streets on file
as aforesaid, and does hereby order that unless the aaid respective
amounte so assessed are respectively paid within the time limited
by law, the said respective amounts shall constitute and be and
are hereby respectively levied by said Council as respective

special assessment against the said respective parcels of real
properties for the respective amounts, all ae_set forth in said
report hereinabove quoted, and as contemplated under the proviaione
of said Chapter 22 of Part 3 of Division 7 of said Streets and
Highways Code, which said respective liene shall respectively
continue until the respective assessments and all reapective
interest amounts thereon are respectively paid, or until they
are respectively discharged of record.
Section 4 . That eaid Gouncil does hereby elect to
proceed under the alternative method of collection provided for
under the provisions of Section 5728 0l said Law (Imrpovement Act
of 1911) hereinabove referred to and does hereby authorize, inatruct, •
' and order that the Notice of Lien ehall be delivered to the County
Auditor of Los Angeles County, Cal�fornia, who shall enter the
amount thereof on the County Aesessment Book opposite the description
of the particular property, and the amount ahall be collec
' together with all other taxes thereon againet the property. Said
County Auditor, and the Assessor, and the Tax Collector of said
' County of Los Angeles who perform tax aseessing and tax collection
,
funetions for the City of Lynwood are hereby authorized, instructed,
directed, and ordered to take any and all action neceasary or
'. proper on their respective parts, a.11 as contemplated under the
� provisions of the � wa of the State of California in such cases
. made and provided.
Section 5 . Said County Aasessor, said County Tax
Collector, and said County Auditor are hereby authorized,
inatructed, directed, and ordered, upon receipt of euch notices
of lien, to receive the same and therea£ter proceed to add the
respective amounts of the respective asaessments indicated in said
respective notices of lien as hereinabove set £orth in said a.bove
report of said Street Superintendent, to the next regular bill for
, taxes levied against the respective lots or parcels of land therein

described or referred to, and to enter the respective amount
thereof on the Counfy Assesament Book opposite the respective
description of the respective particular properties described and
' referred fo in said respective noticee of lien as set forth in

' said report, and the respective amounts thereof shall be collected
with all other taxes thereon againsf the respecti've propertiea
described. Said County Officers, and each o£ them, a,re hereby
f'urther authorized, instructed, directed, and ordered to perform
any further acts on thei"r. respective parts, all as contemplated
under the law in such cases made and provided.
Section 6 . That this reeolution shall take e£fect
immediately.
Section 7 . That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall make a minute of
the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings
of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at
which time the same is pasr>ed and adopted; shall enter the same
' in the Book o£ original resolutions of said city; and shall cause
a certified copy thereo£ to be delivered to each of said respective
Cou`ty Of£icers above named.
