HomeMy Public PortalAbout15-9053 ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT W/FLC Sponsored by: City Manager RESOLUTION NO. 15-9053 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA LEAGUE OF CITIES, FLORIDA MUNICIPAL INSURANCE TRUST, FOR PROPERTY, LIABILITY AND WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2015-2016, ACCEPTING AND IMPLEMENTING THE REQUIRED CONDITIONS AT A COST OF $1,554,268; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, The City of Opa-locka is required to maintain insurance for property, liability, workers compensation; and WHEREAS, The City currently utilizes the Florida League of Cities (FLC) Municipal Insurance Trust; and WHEREAS, The FLC has provided an offer to renew this policy for fiscal year 2015-2016 at a cost of$1554,268 for the premium; and WHEREAS, a diligent search has determined that the FLC policy provides the best coverage at the most efficient cost. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City hereby authorizes the City Manager to renew the Agreement with the Florida League of Cities Municipal Insurance Trust to provide property, liability and workers compensation coverage for the fiscal year 2015-2016 at a cost of$1,554,268.
