A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL' OF,THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD REQUESTING IMMEDIATE ACTION ON THE
CHANGE OF LOCAL POSTAL DISTRICTS IN THE CITY ,
OF LYNG100D -
The City Council of the Cisty of Lynwood does hereby
resolve as follows: •• ' ��
WHEREAS on December 6 1g65 approximately 5,000 people '
_ in approximately one-half square mile of unincorporated territory
ad,jacent to the City of Lynwood formallg annexed to the City of
Lynwood, and •
WHEREAS in addition tolower tax ra.tes and more responsive
. services, a ma,jor reason for the success of the annexation was to
gain community identity, and
- WHEREA5 community identity is intrinsically related to
poatal' service and `p'ost office acldresses; .
NOW, THEREFORE be it'resolved tha.t the City Coizncil of
the City of Lynwood requests that the Post Office Department make
every effort to change the poatal district of the sub,ject area
.from a Compton mai•ling•,address to a Lynwood mailing a.ddress, as
` soon�as possible, -
