� A RESOLUTION OF THE�CITY COUNCIL OF�THE CITY
: OF LYNW.00D SUPPORTING.THE DEVELOPMENT OF
RAPID TRANSIT IN,CONJUNCTION WITH ALL FUT.URE ,
FREEWAY DEVELOPMENT IN GENERAL, AND THE .. '
CENTURY FREEWAY IN PARTICULAR.

, The City.'Council of the City of Lyniaood does hereby resolve
as follows: I �
WHEREAS, `r.ecent :studies have `shown that freeways will not .
tie a'dequate:to meet the transportation needs of the Los 'Angeles
metropol'itan area, and
WHEREAS, numerous plans for various forms of mass trans-
por'tation are.now 'in the talking stage, and
' WHEREAS,'it is ecoriomically unsound to'project a corridor ' •
for a freeway and a few.years.later .to,parallel it .with a similar '
corridor for rapid transit; wi.th the"econom'ic waste which would
ensue,from such planning, and
WHEREAS, sucYi a rapid transit 'corridor is envisioned -
' betweeri the Los Angeles International,Airport. and.th'e Sou'theast
Area of Los Angeles, �
NOW:,..THEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVEA that .the City.Council of
the C'ity: of Lynwo,od supports..the':devel'opment�of rapid transit'
in conjunction with_all,freeways deve,l'opinent in general amd the
evaluatiori of said,rapid transit in conjuncti'on with th'e Century
Freeway in particular, and asks that all appointed' and eleated
offYcials involved in the determinat�iori of freeway alignments and
