HomeMy Public PortalAbout66-025 (03-15-66) �, C r� �` � r • L RESOLUTION Na. 66-z5 A RESGLUTION OF THE t;ITY �OUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING RESOLUTION N0. 65-48 TO PROVIDE THE METHOD_.FOR OVERTIME ACCRUAL AND REPAYMENT The City Council ef Lhe City of Lynwood does hereby re- solve as follows: Section 1 . That the last paragraph �i' Section 2 of Reso= lution No. 65-48 is hereby d2leted and new paragraphs are included to read as follows: "When any other evertime is necessary because of unfinish- ed wcrk, such overtime shall be compensated for in like amount by time off` only, if it extends at least one-halz hour beyond the scheduled tour of duty, Requests for compensatory overtime shall be made by the employee and appreved in writing by his immediate �, supervisor. The Diviaion Commander, Unit Commander, Shift Captain, �---- Public Works Superintendent or Of°f°ice Super^visor sha11 review such requests and authorize the allowance of° such compensatory time to be entered to the employee's credit. "An employee shall not accumulate more than eighty hours (10 days) of compensatory overtime except by permission of the con- cerned Di�>�sion Commander, Unit Commander, Shi£t Captain, Public Works Superintendent or Office Supervisor, Compensatory overtime in exces= of eighty hours (10 days) but nat over 480 hours (60 days) may Y�e accumulated in unusual cases. "In exceptional cases, an accumulation of overtime in ,__ excess of 480 hours (60 days) may be granted with permission of the Appointing Authority: " Where an accumulation i n excess of eighty hours (10_ da.YS of eempensatory overtime results Prom the inability of° the department head to grant compensator•y tirne off to prevent such situation, such shall be deem an'unusual case' or an 'except case' a� the case may be. - - "Subject to the other provisions of this resolutiori, an empioyee snall be entitled to compensatory time of£ �or all overtime w�rked� The department head shall schedu compensatory time off to meet this requirement and upon accrual of eLght hours, or, as in the case or the fire employees, one 24-hour shift' of overtime,.the department head shall schedule eight hours or one shift of com- pensatory time off in the next succeeding month, if at all possible. No+hing herein is intended to prevent the repayment of more or less than eight hours or one shi£t of overtime at any time at the discretion of the department heado "Prior to disability retirement, service retirement or death of the employee, compensatory time off, or, in case of death,.straight time pay, for all accumulated ever*ime accrued subsequent to March 15, 1966 shall be granted.
