HomeMy Public PortalAbout1999-02969 Member Smith introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.99-29 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS, AND SETTING IMPROVEMENT HEARING FOR THE MOHAWK DRIVE AND CHIPPEWA ROAD SANITARY SEWER AND WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution adopted by the city council on April 6, 1999, Bonestroo Rosene Anderlik & Associates has prepared plans and specifications for the construction of the Mohawk Drive and Chippewa Road sanitary sewer and water main improvement project and has presented such plans and specifications to the city council for approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 2. The clerk -treasurer shall prepare and cause to be published as required by law an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be opened on May 14, 1999 and the bids will be considered by the council at 7:30 p.m. on May 18, 1999, in the council chambers at city hall. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the clerk -treasurer and accompanied by a bid bond payable to the clerk -treasurer for five (5) percent of the amount of such bid. 3. A public hearing is hereby set on such improvement to be held on May 18, 1999 in the council chambers at city hall beginning at 8:00 p.m. The city clerk -treasurer shall give mailed and published notice of the hearing as required by law.
