■ Background
— The Watertown Square Study Commission was created as
a result of Town Council Resolution #R98-037.
— The Commission was formed in response to requests from
local businesses & residents via survey.
— The Commission has been meeting monthly since
November 1998.
— The Cecil Group and Bayside Engineering were selected to
develop a master plan for future improvements.
— Santorelli Construction was awarded the contract in April
2004

— Enhance the pedestrian elements in the square —
promote safety
— Improve crosswalks
— Create uniform design
■ New sidewalks with accent pavers
■ Install street trees and planters
■ Add more appropriate lighting
■ Signal upgrades

Watertown Square
■ Current Status of Work
— Completing Installation of Conduit during evening hours.
— Executed Change Orders for Tactile Warning Strips and
Locator Tones consistent with requests from the
Commission on Disability.
— Ongoing Coordination with Library Architect and Engineer.
— New sidewalk along the Southside of Main Street
scheduled to be formed and poured next week (8/30 —
9/3/04).
— Demolition of sidewalk will continue up Main Street to the
intersection with Pleasant Street.
