RESOLUTIOPd OF INTENTION IN THE NiATTER OF THE
IMPROVEMEIQT OF ALMA AVENUE BY THE COIQSTRUCTION
OF' C,ONCRETE CUR&5 APID GUTTERS,. DRIVEWAY
APPROACHES AND SIDEWALK, TOGETHER WITH ALL
INCIDENTAL AND APPURTENAPdT WORK.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Division IV of
�the Streets and Highwaya Code, cited as a Special Assessment
Investigation Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931, the,
City Council of the City of Lynwood has determined'that Alma _
Avenue, between Ruth Street and Otis Avenue, as proposed in
Resolution No. 66-56 of said city ie feasible, and that the public
interest, convenience, and necessity require tlae improvement
substantially as set forth in said report, and said City Council
has found that the lands�.to be assessed will be able to �tand the
- burden of the proposed asses�ment;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of
the City of Lynwood as follows; ��
- Section l . That in the opinion of the City Council of I I
the City of Lynwood, the public interest and o�nvenience require
and it is the intenfion of said Cit� Council to order the following
�
work or improvement to be done to wit: .
The con�truction of cement concrete curb arid gutter and
drive approaches and sidewalk, including all incidental and
appurtenant work on Alma Avenue, between Ruth Street and Otis
Avenue, '
_ Al1 of said work or improvement shall be performed in
the public ways and between the limits hereinafter before
c�signated, except when the plans indicate that the work shall be
� omitted.
That all of' the work or improvement aforesaid shall be
, done and performed in a,ecordance with and to the grades shown on
the plans and Specifications rro. 1966-G-3 on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said city. Said plans are hereby referred to
for a full and complete deacription of said proposed work and for

the grades to whieh the work is to be done, and said plans and
' specifications are by reference made part hereof and ahall govern
for all detail of the proposed,work.
That the total estimated cowt of said wor.k or improvement
is the sum of $3,172.00. The City o£ Lynwood will contribute
�1,268.80. The total eatimated cost to the property owners is
$1,903.20.
Section 2 . That said contemplated work or improvement,
in the opinion of the City Council, is of more than local or
ordinary public benefit, and said City Council hereby determinev
and declare� that the district to be benefited by said work or
improvement, and to be assessed to pay the cost and expenses of
such work or improvement, iw shown on Plan No. 1966 on file
in the office o£ the City Clerk of said city„ to which reference
is hereby made for a full and complete description o£ the assessment
district.
Section 3 • The City Council determinea and declares
that serial bonds shall be issued in the manner and form provided
in Division VII, of the Streets and Highwa.ys Code, cited as the
Improvement Act of 1911, as amended, bearing interest at the rate
of 6� per annum, to represent each as�essment of $50.00 or over
remaining unpaid for thirty days after date of recordation of the
warrant.
Section 4 . Notice i� hereby given that the provisions
o£ that certain act of the Legislature of the State of California,
designated as the Streets and Highways Code, Division IV, cited
as a Special Assessment Investigation Limitation and Majority __..
Protest Act of 1931, as amended, has heretofore been fully compli2d
with and the reports required under the provisions of said act, are
on file in the office of the City Clerk of sa,id city, open to
public inspection and may there be examined by all interested peraons.

Section 5 . The proceedings for the aforesaid work or
improvement shall be taken under a.n act of the legislature of the
State of California designated av the Streets and Highways Code,
Division VII, cited as the Improvement Act of 1911, and a.mendments
thereto.
Section 6 . The City Engineer is hereby directed to make
a diagram of the property affected or benefited by said proposed
work or improvement, as described herein, and to be aesessed to
pay the cost and expenses of said work showing each separate lot,
piece, or parcel of land and the dimension of each lot, piece, or
parcel of land, and the relative location of the same to the work
or improvement proposed to be done, all within the limits ofsaid
aseessment district.
Section 7 . Notice is hereby given that on Tueaday, the
18th day of October, 1966 at the hour of 7:3� P.m, at the Council
Chambers in the City Hall 1133o Bullis Road, in the City of
Lynwood, any and all persons having any objections or protests to
said proposed work or improvements, or to the extent of the district
to be assessed, or to the grades to which the work is proposed to be
done, may appear before said City Council and show cause why said
propo�ed work or improvement should not be ca.rried out in accordance
with this resolution.
Section 8 . The City Eng ineer, who is the Superintendent
of Streets, is hereby directed to poat notices of the passage of
this resolution in the time, form, and manner required by law. '
Section 9 . The City Clerk ahall certify to the paesage
of this resolution by the City Council of said City of Lynwoodc.and
cause the same to be published twice in the Lynwood Press, a news-
paper published and circulated weekly in said city, and hereby
designated by said City Council for the purposes a�oresaid. Said
clerk is also directed fo mail notices of the adoption of this
reeolution and intention in the time, form, and manner, and to
the persons all as provided in said improvement act of 1911, as
amended.
