SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS — MEETING OF
JANUARY 20, 2016
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
actions from their meeting of January 20, 2016.
BACKGROUND:
On January 20, 2016, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly
scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the January 20, 2016 Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting:
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner- Baroldi, Haddad, Wen, Vice -Chairman Georgino,
Chairman Rosso
Absent: Commissioner - None
Excused: Commissioner - None
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes of the November
18, 2015 meeting and received and filed the monthly reports for November and
December 2015.
3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None

4. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR
RESERVED USE OF TEMPLE CITY PARK FOR A HEALTH FAIR AND 5K
RUN ON APRIL 30, 2016
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the request.
B. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMERICAN LITTLE LEAGUE FOR
AUTHORIZATION TO HANG SPONSOR BANNERS AT LIVE OAK PARK
FOR THE 2016 SEASON
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the request.
C. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMERICAN YOUTH SOCCER
ORGANIZATION (AYSO) FOR RESERVED USE OF THE ATHLETIC
FIELDS AT LIVE OAK PARK FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PRACTICES
FEBRUARY 1 — MAY 30, 2016
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the request with conditions.
D. REVIEW OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY PARK NEEDS ASSESSMENT
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT WORKSHOP PRIORITIZED PROJECTS
The Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the list of prioritized projects
proposed and voted on at the January 7, 2016 Community Engagement
Workshop. The Commission approved the list as presented.
5. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A. The Commission received the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for
January 2016.

Approval of the Commission actions of January 20, 2016 furthers the City's Strategic
Goal of Citizen Education and Communication.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2015-16 City Budget.
