4. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FROM FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH FOR RESERVED
USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION AT TEMPLE CITY PARK ON
SUNDAY, MARCH 27, 2016 FOR AN EASTER CELEBRATION AND
CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the request and waived the
rental fee.
B. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMATEUR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION
(TCASA) FOR AUTHORIZATION TO ALLOW A RUMMAGE SALE AT LIVE
OAK PARK ON MARCH 19, 2016
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the request with the
conditions that the sale be held in the vicinity of the softball field during the
regularly scheduled games and that all unsold items be removed from the
park at the conclusion of the sale.
C. REQUEST FROM OAK AVENUE INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL FOR
RESERVED USE OF THE LIVE OAK PARK COMMUNITY CENTER FOR
THEIR 8TH GRADE PROMOTION DINNER AND DANCE ON MAY 27, 2016
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the request with the
following conditions:
1. Use of the Camellia Room would not be allowed until after 3 p.m.; and
2. Staff is to work with the applicant to minimize the number of cancelled
classes.
5. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A. The Commission received the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for
March 2016.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Approval of the Commission actions of March 16, 2016 furthers the City's Strategic
Goal of Citizen Education and Communication.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2015-16 City Budget.
